Over many years, I have spent countless hours finding innovative ways to make virtual tutoring as effective as being in the same room. It is important for me to be able to see what my student is writing. I can help students learn to use a digital writing tablet and whiteboard. For students who would rather avoid a digital whiteboard, I regularly design inexpensive mounts that can hold a smartphone, tablet, or USB webcam over the student's work area. With these mounts, the student can write on a worksheet or scratch paper with their favorite writing utensils, and I can see their work as if I were sitting beside them. Below is a picture of the first set-up I used when I started tutoring online years ago; I use new and improved set-ups now.
Online tutoring can be excellent using your computer, tablet, or smartphone. I am experienced at making online tutoring as effective as being in the same room.
